Nanterre–Université hub
2009 - 2015 : Nanterre - Université station is undergoing a vast renovation operation to make it more pleasant and more accessible.
Key points
> The Nanterre–Université restructuring project is divided into two phases:
> Phase 1: Upgrading of platforms and platform access areas
> Phase 2: construction of a new passenger reception building and creation of a public square over the railway lines
Partners and funding

Every day, more than 60,000 people pass through the Nanterre–Université transport hub, which comprises:
- A Transilien train line
- The RER A
- Bus lines.
Eventually, the hub will also be a stop on the extended T1 tram line.
The cost of the project is € 116,000,000.
7 partners:
● The French Government and the Île-de-France Region are providing the bulk of the funding for the project (€61 million or 52% of the total cost) as part of the State-Region Plan Contract for 2000-2006 and the State-Region Projects Contract for 2007-2013;
● EPADESA (public development agency), project ownership coordinator and financer (€32 million or 28% of the total cost)
● STIF, the authority responsible for organising transport in Île-de-France, is monitoring and supervising the operation
● Conseil général des Hauts-de-Seine, financer (14,5 M€ or 13%)
● RATP, joint project owner and financer (€8.5 million or 7%)
● SNCF, joint project owner
● RFF, joint project owner
Construction progress report
- 1st phase completed with the opening of
the Marteau Technical Services Facility on 4 January 2011.
- 1st paving stone of
the future train station’s plaza was laid on 15 September 2010, and the new
underground access was opened.
- 2nd phase of the project was started.
