Metro

The metro has served Paris for the last 110 years… The network is now one of the densest in the world, with 14 lines interconnected with the bus, tram and RER services. The aim now is to improve transport links by extending some lines beyond the city of Paris and thus facilitate suburb-to-suburb travel.

Four metro line extensions

Extension of line from Porte d'Orléans to Mairie de Montrouge (phase 1) and Bagneux (phase 2)
The 3.2 km extension of line 4 will concern the towns of Bagneux, Montrouge and Arcueil, as well as Paris’s 14th arrondissement. The first phase, which will extend the line to Mairie de Montrouge, is scheduled for completion by 2012.
