Societal and environmental indicators

As a public transport company committed to its urban territories, RATP has always focused on serving its city. The sustainable development policy adopted in 2009 for the next five years, confirms its commitment to sustainable development as reflected in its actions.

7 key issues lie at the heart of RATP’s sustainability strategy, based on several operational action plans. These commitments are being integrated into departments’ objectives contracts. An independent agency will assess RATP’s performances.

4 environmental commitments:

  • developing eco-mobility;
  • energy savings and the fight against climate change;
  • healthy environments for passengers and local residents;
  • exemplary professional practices.

Executive Committee approved 4 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) themes on 31 January 2011

  • Active mobility for persons lacking autonomy;
  • Responsible purchasing policies and supplier relations;
  • RATP’s role as a “social lift”;
  • RATP’s dialogue with local representatives during construction projects.
