Equipment in remotely monitored spaces

RATP is implementing an ambitious remote monitoring and maintenance programme in the passenger areas of its metro network.

The “Symphonie” project will reduce equipment downtime and allow the development of new functionalities for passengers. Installed on line 11 in 2009, Symphonie will be progressively rolled out across the rest of the network.

A tool benefiting RATP staff and passengers alike

The Symphonie project will make it possible to:

  • Improve passenger information through improved audio announcements
  • Welcome customers better by making it easier for staff to move around in the trains and stations
  • Make spaces safer by increasing video surveillance
  • Reduce equipment downtime (by reporting malfunctions and reactivating remotely where possible)

Introduce the functional upgrades required for operation (new alarms and controls, call transfer, access to Intranet services, etc.)

Platform edge doors for line 13

Since 2010, RATP has been installing platform edge doors at twelve stations on line 13. These will improve regularity of service and safety on the line, which is currently the most saturated on the metro.
