The Palais Galliera will host the “Frida Kahlo, beyond appearances” exhibition from 15 September 2022 to 5 March 2023. How well do you really know this artist, who is considered to be one of the most influential for the XXth century? Far from stereotypes, the new exhibition gives you access to Frida’s secret garden.
For the very first time in France, and in partnership with the Museo Frida Kahlo, the exhibition displays over 200 items from the Casa Azul, the artist’s birth and childhood home, with clothes, letters, accessories, make-up, medicine, medical prostheses and more.
The precious collection includes traditional Tehuana dresses, pre-colombian necklaces, which Frida collected, and handpainted corsets and prostheses. The items are displayed alongside films and photographs of the artist to form a pictorial account of her extraordinary life. This exhibition is a must-see!
