Last year of the metro line 6 viaduct renovation project
A fixture of the Paris skyline, the renovation of the metro line 6 viaduct between Passy and Pasteur stations came to an end this summer. The structure, built over a century ago, has stood the test of time remarkably well and weathered the colossal growth in traffic. A work program began 1997 to maintain and repair it. The last step of the project concerned waterproofing and painting work between Montparnasse - Bienvenüe and Trocadéro stations.
In total, the project involved:
- 3,370 meters of track renewed, of which 1,900 meters in 2021,
- 5,670 metric tons of ballast replaced, of which 3,200 tons in 2021,
- 1,215 linear meters of painting, of which 580 linear meters in 2021
