Catherine Guillouard had previously been appointed RATP Group Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer on 2 August 2017. Her reappointment at the head of the company comes after her hearing in the National Assembly and the Senate on 3 and 9 July, under the conditions provided by Article 13 of the Constitution. Both assemblies voted in favour of Ms. Guillouard’s appointment. RATP’s Board of Directors, which met in a special session on 23 July, had previously suggested to the French government that Catherine Guillouard be appointed Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of the Group.
I am very honoured to continue my work at the helm of RATP Group, which is such a unique company. Our multiple areas of expertise (mobility operator, infrastructure manager, manager of major transport and urban integration projects) allow us to position ourselves as a trusted partner in smart and sustainable cities.
The unwavering commitment of our 63,000 employees to serve customers in 438 cities, in Île-de-France, in France and around the world, allows us to provide 4.8 billion journeys yearly and to welcome 16 million customers on our networks daily.
For this next term, I will put all my energy into continuing, along with our teams, the necessary transformation to which the Group has firmly committed through the 2025 Challenges plan, in order to meet three major challenges: to succeed in our energy transition by halving our greenhouse gas emissions by 2025; to continue investing heavily, thanks to the robustness of our financial performance (more than 30% of our turnover each year), with the help of Île-de-France Mobilités, in a more efficient transport network to the benefit of those living in the Paris region; and to be ready for the opening to competition of the Paris bus lines scheduled for the end of 2024.
We will have to intensify our collective efforts in the coming years to offer our customers a more efficient and innovative mobility network and to succeed in our transformation by being faithful to the imperatives and values of public service.
Short biography
Catherine Guillouard began her career at the Ministry for the Economy in the French Treasury before joining the transport company Air France for a 10-year period. She notably held the positions of Senior Vice-President of Flight Operations, Senior Vice-President of Human Resources and Director of Financial Affairs.
In 2007, Catherine Guillouard became Chief Financial Officer of Eutelsat Communications, and as such a member of its Executive Committee. In 2013, she joined Rexel as Chief Financial Director and then Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2014.
She was appointed Chairwoman and RATP Chief Executive Officer on 2 August 2017.
Catherine Guillouard has been a member of the Airbus Board of Directors since 2016. She previously served on the Boards of Directors of Technicolor, Aéroports de Paris (Paris Aéroport) and Engie.
Born in 1965, Catherine Guillouard is a graduate of ENA and Sciences Po Paris. She also holds a DESS (post-graduate degree) in Community law.
