RATP and FREE NOW enter into a partnership to trial a charging hub for electric vehicles for hire

From 21 October 2020 for three months, RATP, an expert in sustainable and urban mobility, and FREE NOW, a multimodal mobility platform, have been trialling the provision of 6 electric charging points on an RATP maintenance site for partner FREE NOW electric vehicles for hire.

6 electric charging points accessible 6 days a week

Over 800 drivers of partner FREE NOW electric vehicles for hire can exclusively charge their vehicles at the RATP electric charging hub located at the RATP Michelet maintenance workshop in Saint-Ouen.

As part of this trial, RATP is offering them 6 charging points, accessible 6 days a week, as well as temporary secure parking to benefit from electric charging and a 22kW supply.

A trial in favour of a sustainable city

This trial addresses the challenges of sustainable urban mobility: clean, environment-friendly, innovative, practical and accessible travel for all. By facilitating access to electric charging points in the heart of Greater Paris, RATP and FREE NOW are supporting the development of electric mobility in major cities and contributing to the development of multimodality in favour of a sustainable city. In the Île-de-France region, the FREE NOW vehicle for hire service has the largest fleet of electric cars.

As an urban mobility player and the first transport operator in the world to be ISO 50001 certified, RATP Group is drawing on its clean mobility expertise and optimising its facilities to create smart, sustainable cities, while enhancing the travel experience of Île-de-France residents.

We are delighted to be able to combine our know-how with the FREE NOW service offering. Through this trial, we are making the most of our facilities, drawing on our expertise in electric mobility and contributing to a better quality of life in the city, with a positive impact on the environment.

At FREE NOW, our aim is to become the first sustainable mobility platform in Europe. In the Île-de-France region, we have the largest fleet of partner drivers using electric cars, which is why we want to make their everyday life easier by teaming up with RATP to provide them with dedicated charging points. Our goal is to reach 1,200 electric vehicles in France by the end of 2020.
