From 2023 onwards, we intend to recruit over 6,600 new hires in the Île-de-France region, including 4,900 permanent contracts, 1,000 work-study contracts and 700 workforce integration contracts. Details below.

In 2023, the Group wants to recruit 4,900 hires with long-term contracts including 2,700 bus drivers, 2,400 of which will be for Paris and its inner suburbs and 300 for its outer suburbs (RATP Cap Île-de-France); 700 station staff; 400 metro drivers.

We are also recruiting maintenance professionals (400 positions), notably train and metro maintenance mechanics, train repair technicians, electromechanics, electronic technicians, electricians and railway signalling and automatic control maintenance professionals.

We are also hiring security professionals (120 positions).

Among these hiring requirements, close to 600 engineering and executive positions are open, mainly for engineers and project managers in the fields of digital technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure and industrial systems, and positions for operations managers.

In addition, RATP has set its sights on accommodating 1,000 new work-study applicants, 850 of whom will work in the CFA MUD (sustainable urban mobility apprenticeship centre).

Another 700 insertion contracts will also be offered.

Our measures in 2023

To meet our recruitment needs, we have been intensifying our sourcing and communication programmes with large-scale communication campaigns to advertise our speed-interview events, employment forums and more.

  • We have significantly increased the amount of work-study and apprenticeship contracts to strengthen our pool of workers;
  • We have lowered the minimum age to work as a bus driver from 21 to 18;
  • We have formed partnerships with local job centres;
  • We have deployed a sponsorship/co-opting initiative for new hires;
  • And we have enhanced our training resources.

RATP au Féminin Group

We have been leading an active policy to attract more female applicants. For this reason, we have developed the “RATP au Féminin” (RATP for Women) programme to encourage women to apply and facilitate their access to all our professions.

Various attractiveness campaigns (forums, networking events, speed interview events, career presentations, and so forth.) have been conducted yearly for this purpose to meet women and present the professions that they may not conventionally consider entering (maintenance mechanics, security officers, and so on).

Specific operations will also be organised in 2023 to boost the number of women hired in the Group’s professions, notably in line with its partnership with the association Elles bougent (Women on the move) at the Forum réseau et carrière au féminin (network and career forum for women) and InnovaTech events.
