Privacy policy of the ratp app

We take the protection, security and confidentiality of your personal data very seriously. Therefore, we carry out our operations in accordance with the applicable data protection and security regulations.

We set out here all the necessary information to answer any queries you may have on why we collect your data and on the way in which we process your data and guarantee its confidentiality and security.

metro Guarantee of Confidentiality

The < RATP > app (hereafter, the < Application >), only collects and processes the personal data which you provide to us when you register with or use the Application.

We guarantee to you that your personal data is processed in accordance with the legislation in force. Therefore, we do not share your personal data with any external third-parties unless this is mandated by law. However, your personal data may occasionally be transmitted to a third party who is acting in the name of or on behalf of RATP, in accordance with the purposes for which the data was collected.

In this case, we make sure that these third parties guarantee the level of protection required to guarantee the security and confidentiality of your personal data.


metro Data used

You can use the RATP app anonymously or as an identified user (when you have a maRATP account). The data which we process is the data collected when you register as well as the data linked to your use of the app.

    metro.metro Data which you transmit to us

If you contact us by email or through a contact form, your message and data will only be used to process your request and will not be retained after that. Your personal data will not be disclosed to third parties at any time.

When you access the RATP app anonymously, you may submit data such as your favourite addresses or your search history. This data will help personalise and improve the operation of the app and is only held locally on your phone. Under no circumstances will this data be disclosed to a third party or analysed.

When you access the RATP app as an identified user, your data will be stored in our database. This data then enables you to use personalised services as well as ensuring that the app is working correctly.

  metro.metro Geolocation data

The use of the App’s geolocation functionality requires the express prior consent of the user for their location to be located. For this purpose the user must activate, if they so wish, the geolocation feature directly in the settings of the user’s mobile device and accept that the Application may use it. This feature may be deactivated or activated at any time.

By consenting to the geolocation GPS feature of the mobile telephone and the Application, the user is able to and agrees to be guided when making searches for routes or maps both on and outside of the RATP network.

The mobile telephone itself calculates its position.

Deactivating the geolocation by the Application and/or the geolocation of the mobile device will block the services provided by the application which are linked to geolocation, when searching for routes and maps.

   metro.metro Data relating to the device and connection to the App

RATP and its subcontractors use data relating to the connection settings and the user’s device, which is collected or processed when the user uses the Application, for the following reasons: to ensure that the Application works correctly; to improve the services available on the App; to adapt the content displayed on the App to the settings of the user’s device.


metro Using personal information

RATP collects and processes your personal information solely for specific and defined needs which you will be told about when you request access to particular services.

The data collected or processed when you use the App is intended for RATP and its sub-contractors, in order to improve the services offered on the App, to facilitate your navigation on the App, to process your requests, as well as to complete your registration to the ‘maRATP’ service, if necessary, and to inform you about offers and news from RATP, on condition that you give your consent for this.

Most of the services available on the RATP app do not require any registration and therefore, you can use them anonymously. However, some services do require registration. You are free to refuse to provide us with the personal data we request but we will not then be able to give you permission to access particular services or be able to respond to some of your requests.
 

metro Users’ rights

In accordance with the legislation in force, the user has the right to access, amend and object to the data held on them, and where necessary the user has the right of portability, restriction and deletion of the data held on them.

The RATP app may contain hyperlinks to sites or mobile apps which are not operated or controlled by RATP. Consequently, RATP cannot be held liable for their content nor for the data protection practices of the third parties operating them.

It is likely that we will need to update our privacy policy. You will be informed of any updates and you will be able to access the new version directly from the RATP app.
