Am I allowed to play a musical instrument in the RATP network?

It is strictly forbidden to play a musical instrument, to sing or to carry out any other musical activity with the aim of collecting money, without specific authorisation issued by RATP.

Anyone who wishes to play music within the RATP network is invited to sign up for the Metro Musicians audition.

Twice a year, RATP holds auditions in view of issuing 300 authorisations that allow the beneficiaries to play music in the network’s metro and RER stations during a 6-month period.

Please note: this authorisation does not authorise you to play within metro and RER trains, the interior of buses and trams, or in the Châtelet – Les Halles transfer hub.
