How do you calculate the distances travelled?

Summary

The distances travelled are calculated differently depending on the transport mode:
- by bus: point-to-point distance as the crow flies
- by train/RER: point-to-point distance as the crow flies
- by car: point-to-point distance as the crow flies, adjusted by a factor of 1.2

For travel using public transport, the total distances are obtained by adding the point-to-point distances for each segment of the itinerary. For example, for an itinerary comprised of walking, bus and metro, the calculated distance corresponds to the sum of the distances for each segment.
