How does a route map work?

Summary

Your itinerary search might generate several possibilities. Select one of these itineraries to see it displayed as a detailed route map.

The route map comprises:

  • Standard information such as:

    • Total travel time, with the times of departure and arrival,

    • Total amount of walking time for the entire itinerary,

    • Fare zones crossed,

    • Greenhouse gas emissions, with an option to obtain further details.

  • Your itinerary:

If your itinerary includes any transfers, the route will be divided into segments.

  • Station/address/point of departure for the segment

  • Departure and arrival times for the segment

  • Transport mode and line number

  • Direction to take

  • Number of stops and travel time for the segment

  • Disturbance alert, in the event of an incident

  • Station/address/point of arrival for the segment

  • Amount of foreseeable walking time for each transfer

  • Route map for the itinerary as a whole

A zoom feature can be used for route maps at departure and arrival points and for walking itineraries.

For the same itinerary, two search options are also available: “Arrive earlier” and “Depart later”.
