Summary
Our stations and tracks might not always be as clean as we wish they were, yet we make major – and very costly – efforts daily to ensure that the metro is clean and to improve passenger comfort.
Nearly 1000 staff members are employed to keep the metro clean, and RATP devotes more than 46 million euros annually to this budget item alone.
To date, although we are fully aware that the situation is still far from perfect, the situation is nevertheless improving, despite major disparities between districts.
Here are some of the initiatives we have taken:
-
RER and metro stations are cleaned daily, and urgencies are resolved within 2 hours
-
Graffiti is removed daily from metro and RER trains
- Special anti-graffiti protection is being applied in trains and certain stations
