Commitment 1: Ensure you have a smooth journey
We offer the smoothest possible transport service to make your journey easier and to reduce waiting times on metro and RER platforms or at bus and tram stops:
- Transport available 7 days a week and 20 hours a day for journeys by metro, bus, tram and RER;
- Noctilien buses available throughout the night;
- A waiting time of (1):
- 3 minutes for the metro (2), 4 minutes for the RER on the central section and 12 minutes on branch lines;
- every 3 to 6 minutes for the tram;
- every 3 to 10 minutes for the bus (3).

In addition to a regular offer in all modes, we also address technological and industrial challenges to offer you ever more efficient rolling stock:
- Metro line 4 has been fully automated since 17 December 2023: this reduces the time between trains and provides greater comfort on board and on the platforms.
Commitment 2: Expand your mobility solutions
Our multi-modal transport offer covers all types of mobility. We thus have a wide transport network including:
- 370 metro and RER stations;
- 184 tram stations throughout the Île-de-France region;
- Over 12,500 bus stops.
We also provide additional forms of mobility with various partners: vélib’ and self-service bikes (Dott, Lime, and TIER), self-service kick scooters outside Paris, car-sharing, ride hailing (Marcel), etc.; these services can be found on the applications Île-de-France Mobilités, Bonjour RATP and on the RATP.fr website.

Commitment 3: Support you throughout your journey
Our staff members are present on the network all year round to welcome you, guide you, provide information and to advise you on your travels.
One of our priorities is to promote access to transport for all, with mobility solutions tailored to everyone. We therefore train our staff and deploy innovative equipment and services for passengers with reduced mobility:
For example:
- 27,000 employees trained to welcome and support persons with reduced mobility and disabilities;
- Cap’Handéo Services de Mobilité certification for all metro and RER lines;
- Our staff provide guidance daily to passengers with restricted vision and hearing and those who don’t speak French.
We also offer additional services to support you throughout your journey:
- Online information regarding lost property on the RATP.fr website or directly to a staff member;
- Loan of umbrellas in metro and RER stations.
Commitment 4: Keep you informed at each stage of your journey
We do everything we can to provide you with information that is consistent, proactive, welcoming, and accessible to all, particularly in view of the multi-modal nature of your journeys:
- We provide real-time information on traffic conditions throughout your journey via audio announcements or the most modern displays.
- Our staff are also available on the network to provide information.

Commitment 5: Remain available at all times
We are always available to answer your queries about itineraries, timetables in real time or regarding any disruption on the network via:
- Our customer service open 7 days a week on 3424 (free call);
- Our Chatbot available 24 hours a day;
- Our X accounts 7 days a week during opening hours of metro, RER, and tram lines.
Commitment 6: Maintain clean and comfortable facilities
The entire RATP network (vehicles and facilities) is cleaned and disinfected every day:
- 1,800 cleaning staff work both day and night to ensure an optimally healthy environment.
Maintenance staff also work hard to guarantee an operational and comfortable network:
- Approximately 900 maintenance workers ensure the availability of station equipment including information displays, ticket machines, lighting, lifts, escalators, etc.
- We guarantee that 95% of our escalators and lifts are in working order.

Commitment 7: Keep you safe on the network
The safety of our passengers on the network is a priority commitment. We have a dedicated team, RATP Sûreté, that ensures passenger safety, protects staff, assets, and equipment, and deters acts of crime and incivility in complex environments: multi-modal networks, confined spaces, and high passenger flows.
- Over 1,000 staff dedicated to safety ensure your protection in our stations;
- Over 50,000 video cameras are deployed in stations and aboard vehicles, which are monitored in an operational command station 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;
- Teams of dogs specially trained in handling abandoned luggage are available to enhance safety and keep the network running smoothly.
We are committed to ensuring a safe and tranquil journey for all our passengers; combating gender-based violence and sexual assault is also a priority.
- All our staff are trained to provide assistance to victims of gender-based violence and sexual assault.
Commitment 8: Combine convenience and comfort
Our commitment to you goes far beyond our role as a transport provider. We also offer additional services to make your life easier and to ensure you have a pleasant journey:
- 4G coverage on 100% of the RATP network;
- Wi-Fi deployed in 85 RER and metro stations;
- Approximately 500 shops in the RATP network including bakeries, grocers, florists, beauty and accessories shops, and much more…;
- A constant renewal of our cultural partnerships: concerts by our metro musicians, exhibitions, and events throughout our network.

Commitment 9: Provide sustainable transport
We are committed to carbon neutrality across all our activities. Whether for real estate, rolling stock or railway infrastructure, we work tirelessly to reduce our energy consumption and offer towns and cities ever more sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions.
We are committed to halving our greenhouse gas emissions between 2015 and 2025 through decarbonisation and energy conservation programmes:
- Conversion of our 25 bus depots to electricity and biogas by 2025 along with new, eco-designed infrastructure;
- The totality of lighting on our network is 3rd generation LED lighting.
