RATP network accessibility

For over 30 years, RATP Group has been working alongside Île-de-France Mobilités to guarantee that its transport network is accessible to people with disabilities.

Inclusive mobility

The company is fully committed to meeting the challenges involved in increasing accessibility on its network for the benefit of people with disabilities.

Although technical, regulatory and financial obstacles stand in the way of making the long-standing metro network fully accessible to wheelchair users, RATP will work together with Île-de-France Mobilités once it has the necessary means to implement solutions for people with disabilities (sensory, physical, motor or mental).

As past efforts have shown, whenever we have been given the possibility, we have achieved 100% accessibility: RER lines rer symbole rer ligne A and rer ligne B , the Paris bus busratp ligne symbole and tram tram symbole networks.

Our determination also extends to the training provided to our field staff members. In the Île-de-France region, over 27,000 RATP employees currently accompany passengers with disabilities every day to assist and guide them on their journeys. These employees are trained to recognize various types of disabilities and offer adapted services accordingly. All RATP-operated metro lines metro symbole and RER lines rer symbole rer ligne A and rer ligne Bhave as such been certified Cap’Handéo, Services de mobilité (mobility services), a label awarded in France to organizations that are qualified to provide assistance to people with various disabilities.
