Traveling with a hearing disability

RATP station staff members are on hand in metro and RER stations to assist you.

What you need to know

​​Station staff members are at your service every day of the week from the start to the end of service. They have been trained to accommodate and assist you.

Their tablet is equipped with an instant translation tool that allows you to converse in different ways in 17 languages : transcription from oral to written, vocalization from written to oral, translation from written to writing.

Ticket desks are equipped with hearing loops. They are located near the hearing loop symbol pictogramme malentendentdisplayed on the window of the ticket desk.

Passengers with hearing disabilities have to set their hearing aids to “T” in order to use the hearing loops.

If you require assistance, you can contact station staff through the new intercoms that are equipped with hearing loops.

You can also communicate with RATP customer service through the Elioz service in French sign language, cued speech and real-time speech transcription.
