Pricing for people with disabilities and their caregivers

If you have a disability, or are a holder of an ONAC or disability card, or are a caregiver to a person with a disability, several travel options are open to you.

Summary

Find more information on the Île-de-France Mobilités website.

People with disabilities living in the Île-de-France region are entitled to an Améthyste travel pass,

which is issued based on means and status.

These passes are funded by the departments in the Île-de-France region, which determine eligibility, and the travel zones to assign. Departments may also require beneficiaries to partially absorb the cost of their travel passes,

which are valid for 1 year.

Eligibility

Disability/CMI/ONAC cardholders, or caregivers to people with disabilities are entitled to reduced fares on public transport:

  • Free travel allowing them to travel across the Île-de-France region without paying for their tickets.
  • A 50% discount allowing them to purchase tickets at half price:
    • Metro-Train-RER tickets, which allow travel on rail networks across the Île-de-France region (excluding metro and RER stations that serve airports, and the Orlyval line).
    • Bus-Tram tickets, which allow travel on overground networks across the Île-de-France region (excluding the RoissyBus route).
    • Paris Region <> Airports tickets, which provide access to Orly and Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airports, on any of the rail networks in the Île-de-France region (including Orlyval).
    • Alternatively, if you are already eligible or working in the Île-de-France region, you can use a reduced-fare Navigo Liberté+ travel pass.

Regardless of whether you live in the Île-de-France region, eligibility criteria are the same; only the media and conditions for obtaining the pass may vary.

During inspections, the disability/CMI*/ONAC** card can be produced to justify entitlement to half-price or free travel for people with disabilities and/or their caregivers. Caregivers must always travel with their “accompagnant” (accompanying person) travel passes, or risk penalties.

> Are you entitled to free travel?

Go to a ticket desk, and show your disability card in order to receive a travel coupon so that you and/or your caregiver can travel for free.

- If you visit an RATP sales outlet, you will be given a travel coupon with an adapted validity duration, depending on your travel plans, so that you will not need to visit a sales outlet for every journey. The coupon will be associated with a temporary card that is assigned to the person with the disability. When the caregiver is entitled to free travel, the validity period of the coupon will depend on the validity of the ticket belonging to the person with the disability (maximum 7 days, which can be renewed as often as necessary while the person with the disability remains in the Île-de-France region). The temporary card will be assigned to the person with the disability, and “accompagnant” (accompanying person) will appear instead of the given name.

- If you visit an SNCF sales outlet, you will be given a travel coupon at the beginning of each journey.
