Why is restructuring work being carried out at Porte de Versailles?

T2 is one of the busiest tram lines in France, but its current infrastructure cannot fully accommodate operational disruptions. This is why Île-de-France Mobilités has approved the T2 ACE project (Improvement of Operating Conditions), which includes:

  • The creation of turnaround tracks at Porte de Versailles station;
  • Shifting the station approximately 100 meters;
  • Building lateral platforms and new pedestrian pathways.

This project also supports the ongoing modernization of the Porte de Versailles district by expanding space for active mobility. In the long term, additional improvements are planned, including the introduction of more trams, which will help maintain a peak-hour frequency of 3 minutes and 30 seconds, ensuring better travel conditions for passengers.

The T2 improvement project is managed by RATP as the project owner, with funding provided by Île-de-France Mobilités.
