A look back at the cultural installation at Luxembourg station, on RER Line B, dedicated to how the french Senate operates. Here’s everything you need to know.

Summary

In 2008, Luxembourg station on RER Line B was renamed Luxembourg – Sénat, in tribute to the institution overlooking it. This name truly came into its own with the cultural installation introduced in 2023, which highlights the role of the Senate, housed within the Palais du Luxembourg.

This contemporary scenographic installation combines playful illustrated elements with explanatory texts that emphasize the Senate’s key functions within French institutions, such as passing laws, overseeing the government, and evaluating public policies.

In this colorful and creative environment, 12 features are highlighted along passengers’ journey, across three areas:

  • On the mezzanine: an introductory scenography revealing the Senate’s visual identity;
  • On the platforms: a deeper dive into the various roles of the upper house of the French Parliament;
  • On the exit panels: guidance toward the institution’s social media channels, encouraging you to engage as a citizen in the legislative process.

With a playful and creative tone, these installations punctuate your journey through the corridors of Luxembourg–Sénat station.
