A day with… Rezwan, electronics maintenance technician

Rezwan’s mission? To ensure the repair and proper functioning of our trains’ electronic equipment, such as the automatic steering system that replaces the driver on the M14. As he explains, his job consists mainly of solving problems all day long.

The day begins early for Rezwan! Since 2012, the maintenance technician manages the diagnosis, repair and validation of our electronic equipment.

“I like to understand how things work…”

After getting his baccalaureate degree in STI electronics, Rezwan joined RATP. In addition to technical skills, his profession requires keeping an open mind: “With electronics, you never encounter the same problem twice. You have to think, but we always manage to solve the puzzle!

Not getting stuck on one fixed idea, asking plenty of questions: for our technician, it is vital to be curious, but also to be patient! It is also important to work together, because maintenance work is often a team effort. “We exchange a lot of information between colleagues,” explains Rezwan. “That’s something I also enjoy.”

And once a solution has been found? Rezwan writes up and posts a diagnostic report and describes any components that were changed. At RATP, everything is traced, noted and monitored to ensure we provide the best service.

“Repair work and research: that’s what I like best!”

Professional conditioning? Having worked for our group for several years now, whenever Rezwan encounters the slightest quack while riding the metro, he tries to guess which component might be the source of the problem!

Rezwan is proud to be a “small cog” in our “big machinery”, and to serve our passengers day in and day out.
