What's new on line 6
In January 2023, a significant step was taken with the introduction of the first MP89 generation trains funded by Île-de-France Mobilités.The adaptation of infrastructure and modernization of facilities are ongoing: track reinforcement, improvement of signaling, transformation of the control system, and the installation of rolling stock maintenance facilities. These extensive works are gradually contributing to optimizing passenger service.
The heritage of line 6
Lines 2, 5, and 6 are characterized by structures (viaducts, pillars, arches, glass roofs, stairs, mezzanines) that have remarkably withstood the test of time. To maintain their usability, aesthetics, and durability, they are undergoing a preservation campaign, with renovation projects for stations or sections planned each year.
