Can you sum up your job in a few words?
I am a mechanic and I travel to RATP bus centers to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance work. In practical terms, I work on all types of bus rolling stock and carry out complex repairs: a compressor to be replaced, a gearbox to be replaced, a defective wheelchair user ramp, etc. I also coordinate the team and train newcomers.
The key qualities needed for your job?
Rigor. You don't mess about when you are working on equipment with 700-volt batteries and I have specific accreditation to work in an electrical environment. Other important qualities: punctuality and a sense of service!
What do you like about your day-to-day work life?
There's no routine here! Every day is different: from Vitry to Thiais, from Montrouge to Bords de Marne, I provide advice and expertise with total independence. I lead projects from A to Z on the entire fleet, on hybrid technologies, and soon on electric and even biomethane. It's highly diversified!
What makes you proud?
Satisfaction in a job well done and done on time! I arrive on site, I identify the cause of the breakdown and I make every effort to ensure the rolling stock is back on the road as quickly as possible.
A word about your team?
We're a very close-knit, energetic team! To organize ourselves on a daily basis, we use different communication tools to remain in contact while working in different places. If necessary, we help each other with the most complex tasks, even remotely. It's very motivating.
