How do I get to Montmartre?

The closest station is Abbesses station, which you can reach using metro line 12. Get off at that station and then follow the signs to walk to Montmartre. Metro line 12 offers an incredible view on the paved streets and stairs leading up the hill.

Montmartre is not directly connected to the RER network. However, you can take RER line B to Gare du Nord station, then from the train station, you can either  walk to Montmartre or take the metro (line 4 towards Porte de Clignancourt and then metro line 12 towards Mairie d’Issy), to reach the closest station to your destination.

You can take tram line T3b to Porte de la Chapelle, and then take metro line 12 to Abbesses station. Although this solution may take a little longer, it’s a viable option if you prefer to take the tram.
