Safe places and harassment
With the support of Île-de-France Mobilités, RATP offers safe places in which to seek refuge in the event of a sexist or sexual harassment incident occurring in public transport.
The “UMAY Safe Places” are places where you can seek refuge and stay safe in the event of an assault attempt on the public transport network.
Our partner businesses can be identified with a sticker displayed on their window.
If you experience or witness harassment in public transport, dial 31 17 or send a text to 31 7 7 from a local number, or use the Alerte 3117 app and staff will intervene promptly.
This service is also accessible from a foreign number and in English by dialling +33 980 98 3117.
Your call and number will be recorded, even if your number is blocked. This service and the call are free.

To ensure that our network is ever safer, please help us by reporting incidents using the bus/tram form of the metro/RER form.
